Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony, Plenary and Concert of the 4th Chile-Japan Academic Forum will take place in the evening of Monday 28th at the Teatro del Lago (Frutillar), so buses from Hotel Cabaña del Lago (Puerto Varas) will depart around ~18:00, and return about 23:00.

The Forum Concert is dedicated to Prof. Isao Matsushita, Japanese contemporary music composer and former Vice President (Research) at Tokyo University of the Arts.

Svetlana Kotova

A concert pianist of Russian origin, based in Chile since the early 1990’s, Dr. Svetlana Kotova has become one of the most sought-after piano performers in the country for her enormous musicality, expressiveness, commitment to music, and her mastery and ductility in musical collaborations. Svetlana has developed an intense career as a soloist, chamber pianist, teacher, orchestral musician, opera coach and musical assistant, conductor and arranger. Dr. Kotova currently serves as Assistant Professor and Director of International Relations at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile.

Ensamble Son del Sur

With a repertoire composed of pieces by Jaime Barría, Marcelo Hermosilla, Mauricio Vicencio and Freddy Chávez, the performance to be given by the Ensemble of the Universidad de Los Lagos —composed of eight teaching artists, who work in educational establishments of the Los Lagos Region and who have toured regionally and internationally— is presented as a space for the dissemination of music that is generated from the austral south, and that through quality interpretations, manage to excite the audience in a journey through the music of Chilean composers.
