Mini-courses
Saraí Hernandez Torres
Associate Researcher, Departamento de Matemática
Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM)
Saraí Hernández is a researcher at the Instituto de Matemáticas of UNAM, in Mexico City. She works in discrete probability, studying stochastic models defined over combinatorial structures; such as random walks, random trees, uniform spanning forests, loop-erased random walks and competitive growth processes. She got her B.Sc. in Mathematics at the Universidad de Guanajuato / CIMAT and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of British Columbia, with Omer Angel and Martin Barlow. Before joining UNAM she was a postdoctoral fellow at Technion hosted by Eviatar Procaccia and Ron Rosenthal.

Sahar Diskin
Hermann-Weyl Instructor, ETH Zürich
Sahar Diskin is a Hermann Weyl Instructor at ETH Zürich. He obtained his Ph.D. at Tel Aviv University with Michael Krivelevich. His research interests lie broadly in probabilistic combinatorics and discrete probability, and much of his work is devoted to percolation on finite graphs: the structure of the giant component in random subgraphs of expanders, product graphs and the hypercube, isoperimetric inequalities and expansion in percolation, and the sharpness of the percolation phase transition, together with related questions on random and pseudorandom graphs.

Marek Biskup
Professor, University of California, los Angeles
Marek Biskup is a professor in the Department of Mathematics at UCLA. He studied physics at Charles University in Prague and received his doctorate in mathematics from the Catholic University of Nijmegen. His research lies at the interface of probability theory and mathematical physics in particular: phase transitions, percolation, random walks and diffusions in random media and the extreme values of log-correlated random fields such as the two-dimensional Gaussian free field and the local times of random walks.

Oren Louidor
Associate Professor, Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences
Technion – Israel Institute of Technology
Oren Louidor is an associate professor at Technion. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Courant Institute. His research are focused on using tools from probability theory, combinatorics and mathematical analysis to study models arising in a diverse range of disciplines as statistical mechanics, computer science, economics, biology and chemistry. Much of his recent work deals with the extreme values of log-correlated random fields, such as the two-dimensional discrete Gaussian free field and branching Brownian motion, and with the cover times and local times of random walks.
