Fifth Chile–Japan Academic Forum
Kyoto, Japan | September 29 – October 3, 2025
Building on a decade of academic exchange and research collaboration between Chile and Japan, the Fifth Chile–Japan Academic Forum will take place in Kyoto. This biannual forum brings together researchers and institutions from both countries to strengthen ties and explore joint initiatives across diverse fields of knowledge.
Join us as we continue this tradition of dialogue and cooperation.
The forum organization is led by the main universities of Chile and Japan, University of Chile (UChile), Catholic University of Chile (UC) and University of Concepción (UdeC), in collaboration with the University of Tokyo (Tōdai) and Kyoto University (Kyōdai). This forum aims to establish an academic platform to promote scientific and research collaboration between both countries and is open to the participation of collaborators from universities and research centers with strong regional ties to Asia and Latin America.
This forum is partly supported by UChile, UC, UdeC and ANID, Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research – Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Collaborative research program (2025WS-03) of the Disaster Prevention Research Institute of Kyoto University, Science of Slow-to-Fast Earthquakes project, and the Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) at University of Chile (ANID Basal FB210005).
