Inspired by the remarkable success of the UTokyo Forum 2013 held in Santiago and S\u00e3o Paulo (November 2013), the First Chile\u2013Japan Academic Forum was held the following year at the University of Tokyo (October 6\u20139, 2014). The Second Chile-Japan Academic Forum<\/a> took place in Patagonia, Chile (November 7\u201311, 2016), followed by the Third Chile-Japan Academic Forum<\/a> in Nikko, Japan (September 25\u201328, 2018). These gatherings continued to foster the long-standing research collaboration between Chile and Japan across various fields of knowledge.<\/p>\n

Originally proposed as a biennial event alternating between Chile and Japan, the Fourth Chile\u2013Japan Academic Forum<\/a> was postponed due to the pandemic and was eventually held in the Los Lagos Region of Chile (November 28 \u2013 December 2, 2022).<\/p>\n

We now look forward to meeting again in Japan for the Fifth Chile\u2013Japan Academic Forum<\/strong>, to be held in Kyoto from September 29 to October 3, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The forum organization is led by the main universities of Chile and Japan,\u00a0University of Chile<\/a>\u00a0(UChile),\u00a0Catholic University of Chile<\/a> (UC) and University of Concepci\u00f3n<\/a> (UdeC), in collaboration with the University of Tokyo<\/a>\u00a0(T\u014ddai) and\u00a0Kyoto University<\/a> (Ky\u014ddai). This forum aims to establish an academic platform to promote scientific and research collaboration between both countries and is open to the participation of collaborators from universities and research centers with strong regional ties to Asia and Latin America.<\/p>\n
