His scientific work has mainly revolved around partial differential equations.<\/p>\n<p>He received his bachelor&#8217;s degree in mathematics in 1988 from the University of Warsaw, Poland. He obtained his PhD in mathematics in 1994 at the University of Tennessee &#8211; Knoxville, USA, where he also started his professional career. He has worked at several American universities and is currently a full professor at the University of Chile.<\/p>\n<p>His primary research area is in the analysis of solutions of nonlinear elliptic and parabolic singular perturbation problems. He has studied the existence of entire solutions of some elliptic equations. Su trabajo cient\u00edfico se ha desarrollado en torno a las ecuaciones diferenciales parciales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Se licenci\u00f3 en matem\u00e1ticas en 1988 en la Universidad de Varsovia, Polonia. Obtuvo su doctorado en matem\u00e1ticas en 1994 en la Universidad de Tennessee &#8211; Knoxville, EE. UU., donde tambi\u00e9n inici\u00f3 su carrera profesional. Ha trabajado en varias universidades norteamericanas y actualmente es profesor de la Universidad de Chile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"md-end-block md-p\"><span class=\"md-plain\">Su principal \u00e1rea de investigaci\u00f3n es el an\u00e1lisis de soluciones de problemas no lineales el\u00edpticos y parab\u00f3licos de perturbaci\u00f3n singular. Ha estudiado la existencia de soluciones enteras de algunas ecuaciones el\u00edpticas.
